WILL RUSSIAN ROCKERS KNOCK ’N-SYNC OFF CHARTS?

BURBANK, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Will a Russian boy band that’s sort of a Bolshevik Backstreet Boys make it big in the U.S.? Dick Clark hopes so. The American Bandstand host has just signed a Russian dance-pop boy band called Na-Na in the hopes that American teens will warm up to the Russian beat. Na-Na has been big in Russia for nearly 10 years, selling nearly 60 million records in the process and former members of the so-called “Moscow Menudo” include Evan Farmer from the MTV sitcom, 2Gether. Although Na-Na’s first American release will be English-language pop, a company spokesman says anyone who hears the band will be “able to tell they’re Russian.”
