FEMALE FIRE FIGHTERS GET HURT MORE OFTEN

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Wireless Flash) – New research on the dangers of fire fighting could start a firestorm between the sexes. According to the Carlson School of Management in St. Paul, Minnesota, statistics show female firefighters are more likely to suffer on-the-job injuries then males. However, researchers suggest that’s only because women are generally more likely to report an injury than men, who consider being hurt a sign of weakness. Although female firefighters report more injuries than men, they spend less time off due to injury. In fact, they return to the job quicker than their male counterparts.
