HIGH GAS PRICES DRIVING SCOOTER SALES

MIAMI (Wireless Flash) – It seems the rising cost of gasoline is fueling scooter sales. A U.S. company that imports an Italian line of scooters says the company has been selling out of stock thanks in part to commuters who are fed up with prices at the pump. Joel Martin, a spokesman for Malaguti scooters, claims you can scoot around for a month for only $5 worth of gas since the scooters get up to 70 miles per gallon. Martin says scooter interest is particularly high in California, where some folks are trading in their gas-guzzling cars for scooters. But before you rush out to buy a scooter, consider this: The top speed for the motor bikes is just 30 miles per hour.
