MECHANICAL MASSAGE RUBS OUT CELLULITE

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Wireless Flash) – There may be a new wrinkle in the fight against cellulite: a mechanical massage. Scientists at Vanderbilt University believe rubbing cellulite-ridden areas with mechanical “rollers” and “suckers” may reduce formation of the ugly “cottage cheese” fat – especially around the hips and thigh area. However, the research is only preliminary because the technique has only been tested on pigs, who received twice-a-week 10-minute massages for up to five weeks. So far, it seems 10 sessions are needed to reduce cellulite, but the scientists say more research is needed to see if the changes are long-lasting. The study appears in the latest Journal For The Society Of Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeons.
