GLEN CAMPBELL DOESN’T CARE FOR BOY BANDS

PHOENIX (Wireless Flash) – You won’t catch Glen Campbell grooving at an ’N Sync concert or bopping at a Backstreet Boys show: He doesn’t care much for boy bands. The 65-year-old country pop legend says he enjoys the vocal harmonies of the hot young groups, but the music has too much rhythm for his tastes. Says Campbell: “I like to be able to hear the instruments.” Although he’s a fixture on the music scene, these days Campbell is doing his part for films as well. He’s a spokesperson for this weekend’s American Movie Classics film preservation festival, which will feature the 1969 hit True Grit, in which he co-starred with John Wayne.
