TODDLERS PUT THE POO IN POOLS

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Wireless Flash) – A disgusting problem is bobbing to the surface of many public swimming pools this summer: an increase in the number of toddlers who are doing “Number 2” in the water. The stinky situation has led one manufacturer of waterproof diapers to launch an educational campaign to prevent illness caused by the floating fecal matter. Patti Gilmer, whose company makes My Pool Pal swim diapers, says parents should never let children swim in a pool if they have diarrhea. She says even if a kid has just been potty-trained, it’s still a good idea to put them in a swim diaper because they’re still liable to have an “accident.” Children should also be warned to never swallow pool water and parents should never change diapers poolside because germs can be washed into the water.
