SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) – To pee or not to pee? That’s the question San Francisco theater-goers are asking themselves at a new play that’s being staged inside a men’s room. The play – called The John – is starting a second “run” tonight (Jun. 25) inside the men’s room in the basement of the Maritime Hall. A spokesman says 20 patrons will sit on stools wedged against the toilet stalls during the one-hour performance will be instructed to refrain from using the facilities during the show. Although sitting in a toilet for an hour may sound filthy, a bathroom germ expert says there’s no need to worry. University of Arizona microbiologist Chuck Gerba says the most contaminated sites in a rest room are the sinks and the floor – so the stool-sitting patrons shouldn’t fear they’ll catch anything other than the theater bug.
