FATHER’S DAY FASHION ALTERNATIVES

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – A menswear expert from New York has some Father’s Day fashion advice for folks who want to avoid the dreaded necktie syndrome. Jack Herschlag of the National Association of Men’s Sportswear Buyers says ascots worn a la Hugh Hefner are all the rage right now and are a great gift for older dads who are sensitive about their wrinkly necks. He also suggests kids buy their dads soft-sided “bucket caps” like the ones sported by Gilligan on Gilligan’s Island or military-style berets – which are also rising in popularity. But if you’re a traditionalist who insists on buying your dad a tie, Herschlag says it’s best to go for a conservative diagonally-striped tie like the ones worn by Ivy League schoolboys.
