BEDSPREAD KING TAKES FINAL NAP

LONG BEACH, California (Wireless Flash) – The world famous “Bedspread King” of Long Beach, California, has gone to his final resting place. Funeral services were held yesterday in Los Angeles for “Bedspread King” Al Greenwood, who died last week at the age of 93. Greenwood promoted his image as the “Bedspread King” with comical TV ads in which he wore a royal crown and cape. One time Greenwood claimed he was creating the world’s first “bulletproof bedspread,” and on another occasion, the “King” declared his store a sovereign nation and demanded economic aid to help “oppressed bedspreads forced to live in plastic bags.” Greenwood was also the consumer reporter on Comedy Central’s Daily Show, where he railed against what he called the “burly bastards of big business. Greenwood’s daughter will be crowned “Queen Susie” later this year and is expected to take over the family dynasty.
