NARCOLEPTIC GOLFER LEARNS NOT TO LIE DOWN ON THE JOB

LIMA, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – Watching golf on TV may put you to sleep but what if you fell asleep while you were playing? That’s the dilemma facing golfer Nicole Jeray, who suffers from narcolepsy – a condition which causes sufferers to fall asleep in the middle of everyday activities. Jeray started playing professionally in 1994 without realizing she had narcolepsy and found herself falling asleep during key tournaments. At first, she managed to play pretty well while she was asleep – usually bogeying each hole – but soon her narcolepsy was keeping her from qualifying for professional golf tours. Now, the 30-year-old Jeray is planning to take a swing at a comeback and credits a drug called Provigil with preventing her spontaneous snooze sessions.
