THE COLD HARD ‘TOOTH’ ABOUT RAVES

CULLMAN, Ala. (Wireless Flash) – Here’s the cold hard “tooth” about raves: Don’t attend one if you have outdated dental work. According to the Academy of General Dentistry, the black lights used at nightclubs and raves can reveal which patrons have cracked or missing teeth that were repaired with old-fashioned materials. Dr. Paul Bussman says rave lighting makes older styles of crowns and composites look as blindingly white as a Chiclet in comparison to natural teeth. To combat the Chiclet-tooth phenomenon, Dr. Bussman suggests ravers who need crowns request newer ceramic materials, which don’t look funny under black lights.
