CIVIL WAR CEMETERIES MAKING A COMEBACK

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (Wireless Flash) – The South is rising again – at least in their cemeteries. A new Civil War-themed cemetery under construction in Fredericksburg, Virginia, will offer customers the opportunity to be buried near an authentic Civil War battlefield. The Chancellorsville Memorial Garden is near the site of the 1863 Battle of Chancellorsville and will feature period-style buildings and a Civil War museum. When the first phase is completed later this year, the Civil War themed cemetery will be able to accommodate more than 40,000 souls. So far, 24 war buffs have bought plots. The old-fashioned cemetery doesn’t come with an old-fashioned price tag, though. Burial costs range from $850 to $3,300.
