JERRY LEWIS: MOST EFFECTIVE CELEBRITY SPOKESPERSON?

RICHMOND, Va. (Wireless Flash) – The French may find him funny, but Americans think Jerry Lewis is a darn good pitchman. According to a study done by Slay Media, 36 percent of Americans think Lewis is America’s “Most Effective Celebrity Spokesperson” for a charitable or political cause. A spokesman for the study says Lewis’ 35 years as telethon host for the Muscular Dystrophy Association is a likely reason he was chosen. The number two most effective celeb spokesman is Michael J. Fox for his efforts to promote Parkinson’s Disease, followed by NRA spokesman Charlton Heston. Finally, the study has a sad note for musician Sting – only 2 percent found him an effective spokesman for the human rights group Amnesty International.
