TORTURE RACK USED TO CURE BACK INJURIES
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) Back in medieval times, the rack was used as a torture device but now its making a comeback as a cure for back injuries. An L.A.-based chiropractor is using a rack-like table and isometric exercises he invented himself to treat several back problems. Dr. Stephen Price says the procedure, known as VAX-D, requires the patient to lie face down on a table with his or her pelvis secured to the table. The patient then grasps handles above their head and the body is stretched to elongate the spine. Although it sounds like something out of The Inquisition, the procedure is painless and allows fluid to return to spinal disks something which until now was never possible. Dr. Price claims the procedure cures 70 percent of sufferers who have not yet undergone other surgeries and claims not one patient has had recurring problems.
