NEW JERSEY D.J. TO ATTEMPT WORLD RECORD

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Wireless Flash) – The Memorial Day weekend won’t be much of a holiday for one New Jersey disc jockey who will attempt to break a Guinness World Record. Glen Jones of WFMU radio in Jersey City will attempt a 100-hour marathon broadcast in the hopes of beating the current world record of 73 hours and 33 minutes. The 39-year-old Jones admits he has his work cut out for him because he’s never stayed up longer than 36 hours. In addition, WFMU is commercial-free and has no news department so he won’t be able to catch a breath during ads or news reports. Jones claims he’s been training for the event for the past six months and is confident he’ll be able to beat the record as long as he doesn’t have to play his least favorite song, ‘We Built This City,’ by Starship. The marathon broadcast begins May 25th at 9 a.m. EDT and, if all goes well, will end sometime on May 29.
