BOOZY BEHAVIOR COULD CAUSE SNAKE BITE EPIDEMIC

ATLANTA, Ga. (Wireless Flash) – Mothers Against Drunk Driving may have to start another advocacy group: Mothers Against Sloshed Snake Handling. Statistics show 50 percent of the nearly 8000 snake-biting accidents that take place in the U.S. each year happen to folks who are under the influence of alcohol. There’s more bad news for sloshed snakebitten folks: A major manufacturer of anti-venom says it has run out of its snakebite remedy, and won’t have more for at least two months. Atlanta-based veterinarian Dr. Stephanie Ostrowski says there are other snakebite treatments available but not every one works for the same type of bites. As a result, she recommends that if you’re going to go drink alcohol, don’t do it around poisonous snakes.
