LITTLE RASCAL STAR SAYS BLAKE DIDN’T DO IT

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Things aren’t going so well for Robert Blake these days but at least one of his Our Gang buddies is behind him. Former child actor Tommy Bond – who played “Butch” on the Little Rascals – says he thinks anyone who considers Blake a suspect in the murder really doesn’t know the man because he claims Blake “...isn’t the type to shoot someone.” Bond worked with Blake on three films including 1939 Captain Spanky’s Showboat and he remembers the then 5-year-old actor as “courteous, observant and serious.” In recent years, the two men became friends at various Our Gang reunions and Bond was especially impressed with Blake’s interest in making films with good moral messages. These days, Bond makes personal appearances at antique fairs and memorabilia shows where he talks about his Little Rascals past. However, right now, he wants Blake to know their friendship has a future.
