SURFERS MOST SPIRITUAL PEOPLE ON EARTH SAYS RABBI

MALIBU, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – A 50-year-old surfing rabbi claims surfers are the most spiritual people on Earth. Rabbi Nachum Shifren of Los Angeles has been surfing for 38 years and believes it’s the most spiritual thing you can do. He feels splashing around in the ocean is the same as “harnessing the energy of creation.” The Surfing Rabbi also wants to put to rest the stereotype that surfers are just lazy beach bums. He claims surfers are the most disciplined people he’s ever met because they have to schedule their lives around the perfect wave. Shifren says riding the waves is as religious as meditation, prayer and other forms of worship. Rabbi Shifren is the author of the new book titled – what else? – The Surfing Rabbi (Heaven Ink).
