MCVEIGH’S LAST MEAL GIVES RESTAURANTS FOOD FOR THOUGHT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Wireless Flash) – The Oklahoma City Bomber’s May 16 execution in Terre Haute, Indiana, is giving restaurants there something to chew on. The Terre Haute restaurant rumor mill is buzzing that Timothy McVeigh is considering having his last meal sent in from one of the town’s eateries. Connie Simrell, owner of “Abe’s Acres Amish Style” restaurant, says if McVeigh wants home cooking for his last meal, he might enjoy her special roast beef and mashed potatoes. The owner of another eatery called “Big Shoe’s BBQ” says she’s willing to send some ribs to McVeigh’s cell but she refuses to put his picture on the wall among her other famous customers who include The Supremes. One Terre Haute restaurant isn’t chomping at the bit to serve McVeigh: The manager of the town’s “Dog ‘N’ Suds” says there’s no way he will make its famous Coney-style hot dog for McVeigh without “checking with the warden first.”
