SCIENTIST: LIFE FORMS COULD SURVIVE ON MARS

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Wireless Flash) – Could a human survive the conditions on Mars? One scientist thinks so. Dr. Wesley Ward of the U.S. Geological Survey simulated Martian dust storms by using four giant fans in the Arizona desert that created a 40 mph dust tornado. He then exposed himself to the sand storm and came out without a scratch. Ward admits Martian tornados can reach speeds of 800 mph, which are too perilous for human life. Still, he says scientists have been able to find evidence of life after severe dust storms on Earth, and if they can find life in hellish conditions here, then most likely some form of life can be sustained on Mars. Dr. Ward’s experiment will be unveiled next month on Planet Storm, a Discovery Channel documentary.
