L.A. MAN TO SPEND 75,000 MINUTES IN OLD ACURA

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Would you spend 52 days straight in an old clunker? Maybe not, but a Los Angeles man has 75,000 reasons to do so. Starting Monday (May 7), 26-year-old Sam Walters will be spending 75,000 minutes – about 52 days – in his old 1991 Acura Integra in hopes of winning $75,000 from Valvoline Oil. Walters will start in Lexington, Kentucky, and drive nearly 10,000 miles through 40 different cities before ending up in New York City on June 28. It won’t be easy. Walters will have to eat and sleep in the car and keep the pedal to the metal constantly. Backaches and hemorrhoids are a potential concern but Walters is more worried about only getting 10 minutes every two hours for bathroom breaks. Although 52 days in a car could drive anyone crazy, Walters thinks he can handle the stress because, in his words, “I’m used to long road trips.”
