STAND BACK: STEVIE NICKS IMPERSONATORS TO INVADE NEW YORK

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Anyone can impersonate Elvis but it takes a special person to mimic Stevie Nicks. Tonight in New York City (Apr. 24), more than 100 Stevie Nicks mimics will be dressing up in hippie skirts and platform shoes to celebrate the annual “Night Of A Thousand Stevies.” Nicks impersonator Cathy Cervenka says many of the fake Stevies at the event will be drag queens but says anyone can participate if they know how “to twirl like Stevie does while she’s singing “Stand Back.” One group of Stevies is a string quartet who will be performing classical renditions of her hits, while others will compete to see who can do the best renditions of “Edge Of Seventeen.” Cervenka says really good Stevie mimics get their singing voices ready by practicing “farm animal noises” before the show.
