DOO-DOO MAY PROVE EXISTENCE OF EXTINCT SLOTH

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – A giant sloth thought to be extinct for thousands of years may be alive and pooping in Brazil. That’s according to Ohio-based geneticist John Lewis, who says he recently returned from South America with a specimen of fresh dung he claims was retrieved from a supposedly extinct sloth. The creature is about the size of a small elephant and once inhabited much of North and South America, but many scientists consider the animal to be extinct. The recently discovered sloth doo-doo may change all that, however. Researchers recently compared DNA from the dung with that of an extinct sloth and it was an exact match. Lewis says his research team will be in Brazil until July trying to videotape the giant sloth.
