WHISTLERS CONVENTION BLOWS THROUGH NORTH CAROLINA

LOUISBURG, N.C. (Wireless Flash) – Most folks find whistling irritating, but the folks in Louisburg, North Carolina are “tweet” on it. This weekend (Apr. 20-21) the town will hold the 28th Annual International Whistling Competition to see who really whets the judges’ whistle. However, puckered-faced participants who expect to win the contest with the Andy Griffith Show theme song will soon be whistling another tune. Each contestant must whistle a classical tune as well as a pop song such as Britney Spears’ “Oops, I Did It Again.” The contest is part of the Whistlers Convention which takes place in Louisburg, April 19-22.
