BELIEVE IT OR NOT, XFL HAS FANS

MEMPHIS (Wireless Flash) – The XFL may be laying an egg with most couch potatoes but, believe it or not, the league actually has fans. One such fan is 24-year-old April Divilbiss, who’s such a diehard supporter of her hometown Memphis Maniax that she’s vowed to buy season tickets for the 2002 season – if there is one. Divilbiss wasn’t a football fan until this season and she thinks the quality of play in the XFL is just as good as the NFL. She says she prefers the Maniax over the NFL’s Tennessee Titans because they’re natives and not transplants from Houston who – in her words – “...act like they don’t wanna be here.” Divilbiss will be “devastated” if the XFL folds after this year but admits her opinion isn’t shared by her family and friends: They’re more interested in the Memphis minor league baseball team.
