VOODOO CURSE DELAYS CONSTRUCTION OF ISLAND RESORT

DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. (Wireless Flash) – A voodoo curse is standing in the way of progress for a tiny island in South Carolina. Real estate developers want to turn the rural island known as Daufuskie Island into a resort, but locals claim the property is protected by a voodoo curse laid down by a disgruntled descendent of former slaves. Resident Roger Pinckney says the curse was placed 15 years ago by a voodoo priest who claimed developers were digging up graves and tossing his ancestors’ bones into a river. Some locals think the curse has caused two developers to go bankrupt and another to die from a mysterious heart attack just days after he threatened an environmentalist. To top things off, a federally-protected bald eagle has just built a nest on the site, further complicating any construction plans.
