BODY IS A TEMPLE FOR WEIGHT-TRAINING RABBI

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- The body is truly a temple for one weight-training rabbi in Los Angeles. Rabbi Avi Pogrow has been lifting weights for the past year and is getting set to participate in a body-building contest in March. The 28-year-old "rippling rabbi" says the weight-lifting not only helped him lose 40 pounds, it taught him that pushing yourself past physical limits builds emotional and spiritual fortitude. Even better: Pogrow says his efforts have inspired members of his synagogue to start lifting weights themselves. However, he isn't stopping there. He hopes to become the Arnold Schwarzenegger of the Synagogue by producing a spiritually-oriented strength training video.
