MARTIN SHEEN ONCE CONSIDERED AS V.P.

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- How's this for a case of art imitating life? "West Wing" star Martin Sheen was once considered as a vice presidential candidate. Sheen tells the upcoming "Biography" magazine that back in 1996 -- long before he was cast as President Josiah Bartlet -- he was asked by members of the Green Party to be Ralph Nader's running mate. Although Sheen was flattered, he says he turned down the offer to be V.P. because he didn't feel he had the intelligence or makeup needed to be president. But his fellow "West Wingers" disagree. Former "Good Times" dad John Amos -- who plays Admiral Fitzwallace on the drama -- claims Sheen "wouldn't be the worst president we've ever had."
