MEET THE LYRICIST LIBRARIAN

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (Wireless Flash) -- Who says libraries don't rock? Certainly not a reference librarian in Washington State who writes songs about his bookish profession. Rob Lopresti has been writing folk music for 15 years -- including an anthem titled "Reference Librarian" with lyrics like "Cause I'm a reference librarian/ I've got that MLS/ I'm the one you've got to see/ When your bibliography is in a mess." Lopresti says the ditty is especially popular with other librarians because it's one of the few -- if not the only -- songs to brag about the prowess of librarians. The librarian lyricist says he hopes folks will be singing his library lyrics around campfires 20 years from now.
