IS IT TIME TO CHANGE TIME?

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (Wireless Flash) -- A computer security expert in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, thinks it's high time we changed our system of time. 41-year-old Doc Farmer -- who claims to be Policy Development Advisor for a group called the Official Monster Raving Loony Party -- has invented a timekeeping system that replaces seconds, minutes and hours with "tiqs," "chrons" and "myros." Under his "Loony Time" system, each day lasts 200,000 tiqs, the equivalent of 2000 chrons or 20 myros. Farmer also wants to revamp the calendar to make 13 months with 28 days each so each month begins on a Monday and ends on a Sunday -- to prevent Friday the 13th from ever occurring again. He has sent the plan to various timekeeping authorities in hopes they'll study the idea, which he claims is 2.3148 times more accurate than the current system.
