FAST FASHION: DESIGNERS TO CREATE CLOTHES OUT OF CAR PARTS

DETROIT (Wireless Flash) -- Clunky car parts are becoming high fashion items thanks to a group of designers making clothes out of junk salvaged from Ford automobiles. The designers are using everything from air bags to gear shift knobs to make the "car couture" duds, which will be displayed during New York's Fashion Week in February. Pixie Yates is one of the designers working on the project and describes her fashions as ""Sex In The City" meets Detroit." She's already created miniskirts and short trench coats made out of car seat fabric and seat belts and now wants to create purses made out of the headrests.
