MUSEUM OF ODD OBJECTS RETRIEVED FROM ANIMALS' GUTS

DENVER (Wireless Flash) -- Visitors to a Denver veterinary hospital are enjoying a gut-wrenching display of objects retrieved from animals' stomachs. The glass-enclosed "museum" is in the waiting room of the Alameda East Veterinary Hospital and features pre- retrieval X-rays of pets showing the outlines of everything from pantyhose to padlocks in the guts of the poor critters. The hospital is featured on the Animal Planet show "Emergency Vets" and spokesman Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald says the museum has a serious purpose: To show pet owners how important it is to keep small objects out of the reach of your furry friends. The emergency vets will share stories about pets who swallow odd objects on the 100th episode of the show, which airs next Tuesday (Dec. 12).
