MAN OFFERS FLORIDA $1 MILLION FOR ALL BALLOTS

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Wireless Flash) -- The Florida election fiasco has cost the state millions of dollars, and now a man in St. Louis wants to help. Entrepreneur Michael D. Barnes has offered state officials $1 million for every used election ballot, with or without chads. In 1998 Barnes helped navigate the sale of Mark McGwire's 70th home run baseball and he figures the ballots are potentially valuable political collectibles. He says the infamous 10,000 "discarded votes" will be the most valuable followed by votes disputed in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Although there's no precedent for selling votes AFTER they've been cast, Barnes says ballots have been publicly released as historical artifacts in the past.
