CHUCK BERRY: JOHNNY B. SUED

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Wireless Flash) -- Chuck Berry may want to write a new song: "Johnny B. Sued." It seems Berry's former pianist, Johnnie Johnson, has filed a lawsuit in St. Louis Federal Court demanding royalties for at least 50 songs he claims he co-wrote with the guitarist. Johnson claims he co-wrote the songs "Rock And Roll Music" and "Sweet Little Sixteen" but Berry registered the copyrights in his name alone. Ironically, the only song that Johnson claims Berry wrote by himself was "Johnny B. Goode," which was written to honor the pianist. Berry's agent, Dick Alen, says he's surprised Johnson is filing a suit 45 years after the fact -- especially since Berry wrote a letter to the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame requesting Johnson be admitted.
