HURRICANE ANDREW INSPIRED BACKSTREET BOY'S NIECE

MIAMI, Fla. (Wireless Flash) -- The niece of one of the Backstreet Boys claims a hurricane inspired her to start a singing career. Howie Dorough's 23-year-old niece, Chelsea Herring, says she always wanted to be a singer but didn't take it seriously until Hurricane Andrew hit Florida in 1992 and destroyed everything her family owned. But even though the hurricane left her homeless, she says it was a blessing because it forced her family to move away from a bad neighborhood, which helped her self-esteem and her singing career, which is just now taking off. Chelsea is about to release her first recording, "Making Things Right," and Uncle Howie has also written a ditty for her called "At The Seat Of Love."
