AT-WORK BATHROOM READING IMPROVES BOTTOM LINE

ENCINO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Companies looking to flush out some good ideas from workers should consider stocking the employee rest room with "MAD" magazine and comic books. Experts say bathroom reading is a fun and inexpensive way to get workers to come up with creative ideas. Management consultant Ken Lloyd says reading wacky stuff in the loo can help workers "turn off" from work and wipe out sluggishness when they hit creative dry spots. However, he strongly discourages rolling out bathroom reading materials relating directly to work because it can flush creativity right down the toilet. Lloyd is the author of "Jerks At Work" (Career Press).
