HALLOWEEN CAN BE HORROR ON THE EYES

NEW ORLEANS (Wireless Flash) -- Spooky halloween stories may give you the creeps, but Halloween-related eye injuries can make your eyes pop out. According to ophthalmologist Dr. Monica Monica, kids who carry plastic pitchforks as part of a devil costume are in serious danger of poking an eye out. She predicts at least 30 children around the country will go to the hospital this Halloween because of pitchfork- prodded corneal catastrophes which can result from simple scratches to full blown ruptures of the eyeball. Dr. Monica warns parents to keep an eye on rambunctious children and avoid any costumes with pointy edges.
