SYDNEY OLYMPICS INFLUENCING CAR COLORS

CANONSBURG, Pa. (Wireless Flash) -- The Sydney Olympics may be over -- but the 2000 Summer Games will soon be impacting the colors of your clothes and cars. According to the Color Marketing Group, which forecasts which colors will be hot, designers who watched the Olympics were influenced by the rusty earth tones of Australia and its shimmery blue coastline. That means those colors will soon pop up on everything from clothing to toasters. A spokeswoman says the water colors are already hot in fashion -- such as those shiny Lurex jeans currently popular with hipsters. She also predicts within a year the hot car colors will be spicy orange tones and metallic shades reminiscent of the Olympic flame.
