`CLAPPER' FOR YOUR CRANIUM TURNS ON LAMPS WITH BRAINWAVES

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Wireless Flash) -- Think the "Clapper" is cool? Well, a computer science student in New York has created a technology that allows people to turn their lights on and off using brainpower alone. University of Rochester graduate student Jessica Bayliss has created a virtual reality simulator that allows users to control a virtual stereo, lights and TV set using only their brain waves. But couch potatoes shouldn't get their hopes up just yet. Bayliss says the technology is being designed for severely handicapped folks and isn't practical for the average lazybones.
