ED WOOD'S FORMER GIRLFRIEND WRITING MUSICAL ABOUT HIS LIFE

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Wireless Flash) -- Today (Oct. 10) would have been bad movie director Ed Wood's 76th birthday. One person who's celebrating is Wood's former gal pal, actress Dolores Fuller, who's writing a stage musical based on their four years together. Fuller -- who co-wrote "Rock-A Hula Baby" for Elvis Presley -- says the musical is tentatively titled "Ed, Bela and Me" and will debut next year. She says she figures a musical is a good way of revealing the truth about her and Wood's notorious transvestite activities -- including his habit of wearing her frilly panties. Fuller admits at first she was shocked, but says "we created so much together, I overlooked it." She will be discussing Wood at Cult Movies Convention 2000, a B-movie fest in Los Angeles that will take place October 20-22.
