WOMEN WRITES BORING BOOK -- AND IS PROUD OF IT

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Wireless Flash) -- Would you be happy if a book you wrote put everyone to sleep? A self-help author in Minneapolis says she's thrilled by the snooze-inducing reaction to her latest book. Ellie Sue Stern is the author of "Yawn! Bedtime Reading For Insomniacs" (Ten Speed Press), which she designed to be boring so even the most sleep-deprived person will go straight to dreamland. Stern says her inspiration came from reading labels on bottles of cough syrup. The boring book includes chapters on snow and ice removal, details about the Asian long-horned beetle and a copy of the fine print that appears on the back of airline tickets. Stern says she also put in a chapter of income tax instructions, but discovered "...it scares people so much they can't sleep."
