A DRINK A DAY MAY PREVENT HEARING LOSS

MADISON, Wis. (Wireless Flash) -- Here's more evidence tipping back a few cold ones might help your health: Moderate alcohol consumption may prevent hearing loss in oldsters. According to a new study by the University of Wisconsin at Madison, senior citizens who drink 10 to 12 alcoholic beverages a week suffer less hearing loss than those who don't drink at all. Researchers say the results suggest alcohol may slow the processes which cause hearing to get worse with age. But before you start boozing it up in hopes of helping your hearing, hear the researchers out: They caution both old and young against altering their drinking habits until more research is done.
