JULIE NEWMAR REVEALS CATTY SECRETS BEHIND `CATWOMAN'

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- There's a catty secret behind Julie Newmar's sexy "Catwoman" character on the old "Batman" TV series. That's according to Ms. Newmar herself, who says two little pussycats helped her prepare for the role back in 1966. The actress received the two house cats from the sister of Gypsy Rose Lee, who was a neighbor at the time, and learned to mimic their moves "by osmosis." As for Newmar's trademark purring voice, she says she accomplished that by simply mimicking Rita Hayworth. She also confesses she used her own knowledge of sewing to alter her Catwoman costume so it had more sexy curves. Newmar is profiled in the new book "Swingin' Chicks of the '60s" (Cedco Publishing).
