`MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW' TURNS 30 (SEPT. 19)

NASHVILLE (Wireless Flash) -- Tomorrow (Sept. 19) marks the 30th anniversary of a sitcom that "turned the world on with a smile": "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." One person celebrating is musician Sonny Curtis, who wrote the show's theme song, "Love Is All Around." Curtis -- who started out playing with Buddy Holly -- wrote the song in less than two hours and sold it to series' creator James Brooks a few hours later. Believe it or not, the song's most famous line -- "Who can turn the world on with her smile?" -- wasn't added until just before the show's second season. These days, Curtis plays guitar with The Crickets, who along with Jackson Browne, Graham Nash and Eric Clapton, are working on a Buddy Holly tribute CD.
