BODY SNATCHERS BECOMES SCI-FI SONGFEST

Macon, Ga. (Wireless Flash) -- Here's a scary thought: The 1956 sci-fi thriller "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" is about to become a musical. A sci-fi songfest titled "Body Snatchers: The Musical" will open next month in Macon, Georgia, and although the original movie was an allegory about the McCarthy scandal, the new musical is more about the dangers of Prozac. Composer Bob Lesoine (Le-Swan) says his musical is a love story about what happens when people stop being individuals and lose their humanity. The villains of the original film were an alien race of emotionless "pod people," but the "Body Snatchers" new villains are more like Prozac enthusiasts who have lost their ability to feel and think.
