GIDGET GOES NATIVE-AMERICAN WITH HELP FROM ELVIS

SEDONA, Ariz. (Wireless Flash) -- You've heard of "Gidget Goes Hawaiian?" Well, now the star of that film has gone Native-American. Former Gidget Deborah Walley has found a second career writing children's books centering around Native American culture. The 56-year-old Walley credits her interest in Native- American culture to Elvis Presley, her co-star in the 1966 film, "Spinout." At the time, the King was studying yoga and he and Walley spent their time between bikini scenes discussing spirituality. She says as a result of the King's "inner quest," she developed an interest in metaphysics and started studying Native American religions. Walley has since turned her beliefs into a children's book, "Grandfather's Good Medicine," and she's currently writing a book about her time with Presley tentatively titled "Conversations With The King."
