WAR SET TO BATTLE CHARTS ONCE AGAIN

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Looks like Carlos Santana's recent comeback is inspiring other 1970s-era Latin-rock bands -- including War. The band that gave the world "Why Can't We Be Friends" is currently in the studio working on a CD that, like Santana's "Supernatural" CD, will feature guest performances by contemporary artists. Some of the musicians confirmed to appear on the CD include former Jane's Addiction leader Perry Ferrell and Conrad Lozano of Los Lobos. Although there are no plans for Santana to strum a few notes, bandleader Lonnie Jordan says he's hoping to get his brother, Jorge Santana, to sit in for a song or two. If all goes well, the as-yet untitled War CD will hit stores in the fall of 2001.
