MODERN-DAY ED WOOD MAKES `THE CHEAPEST MOVIE'

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Bad movie mogul Ed Wood may be long dead -- but one man is carrying on in his tradition. John Kenneth Wagner is the writer, director and producer of "The Cheapest Movie" -- a new flick he describes as being filled with "cheap sets, cheap props, cheap actors and a cheap story." The plot concerns a scientist who converts prune juice into gasoline and gets kidnapped by jealous oil executives. The film features a lot of Ed Wood techniques: Namely amateurish actors, shoddy locations and secondhand props taken from the co-producer's garage. Now Wagner is trying to get his low-budget stinker distributed nationally and claims he's about to sign a deal to distribute "The Cheapest Movie" to Asian theaters. What's next? He's already scripted another flick called "Spotless" which is a tale about a toilet mogul.
