VIETNAM WAR DIFFICULT PERIOD FOR FEMALE SOLDIERS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Looks like the Vietnam War was a difficult period for women soldiers -- literally. According to a new book, "Women In Vietnam: The Oral History" (TV Books), many Army PX stores didn't carry tampons -- even though they were regularly ordered by supply officers. When one army nurse investigated the mystery of the missing tampons, she discovered some soldiers didn't know what the tampons were and thought they were meant to clean M- 16 rifles. "Women In Vietnam: The Oral History" will be released July 25.
