COMMUNAL LIVING EXPERTS SOUND OFF ON `SURVIVOR'

TRYON, N.C. (Wireless Flash) -- Although "Survivor" shows people living together communally, it's not getting raves from folks who live in modern-day communes. Diana Christian -- who edits the community living magazine, "Communities" -- claims TV shows like "Survivor" and "Big Brother" promote a "me-first" attitude that's opposite of what communal living is all about. She says if the "Survivor" castaways were really stranded, they could only survive by banding together -- not by being cut throat. Christian thinks the producers should take a tip from folks who live in real communes and award points to castaways who offer compassion and cooperation to members of the losing tribe.
